🆕 Amazon Simplifies Campaign Management with New Rules Tab

Amazon has launched a new Rules tab in the ad console, providing advertisers with a centralized location to view, filter, and manage all their campaign rules.

Key features:

  • Unified Dashboard: Access all your bids, budget, and targeting rules in one convenient place.

  • Filter Options: Sort rules by category, name, or active status for easier management.

  • Scalable Creation: Add new rules and apply them across multiple campaigns in just one step.

  • Consistent Rule Types: The tab still offers the same rule types, including bid adjustments, budget increases, and the transfer of targeting between automatic and manual campaigns.

Although the mechanics of the rules remain unchanged, this update greatly enhances scalability and simplifies management, eliminating the tedious task of applying rules individually to each campaign.

📦 Amazon Tightens Control Over Excess and Unfulfillable Inventory

Starting September 30, 2025, Amazon will implement new procedures for managing unsold and unfulfillable FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) inventory in the US and Canada. If sellers don’t set preferences, Amazon will make decisions on their behalf.

Key Updates:

  • FBA Liquidations: Default for unsold or returned items. Items will be liquidated through Amazon’s partners, and sellers will receive about 5–10% of the average selling price unless they opt out.

  • FBA Donations: Mandatory for eligible items, which will be donated to Amazon’s nonprofit partners. Sellers cannot opt out, but disposal fees remain the same, and donation certificates will be issued.

  • Other Outcomes: Items not eligible for liquidation or donation will be disposed of.

Sellers should review their FBA settings to align inventory management with their business goals, as failing to do so could result in lower recovery values and less flexibility.

🔜 Amazon Prepares to Automate Alt Text Ahead of Black Friday

Amazon is reportedly testing an AI capability that can read images and auto-generate alt text, a move that could significantly change how sellers approach SEO in A+ Content.

Key Implications for Sellers:

  • Decline of Alt Text Tricks: Techniques such as misspellings and hidden keywords may become less effective.

  • SEO Shift: The importance of on-page text remains, but image SEO shortcuts might lose their value.

  • Design Visibility: Text-heavy creatives may experience an increase in visibility.

This feature is expected to launch by November 1, 2025, aligning with Amazon's strategy of rolling out changes before busy shopping seasons. Sellers may need to focus on quality content and designs rather than keyword stuffing.

🚛 Amazon Expands Fresh into Perishable Grocery Delivery

Amazon is expanding its Fresh program to include perishable items like produce, dairy, and refrigerated goods, enhancing its grocery delivery service. This aims to increase competition with Walmart, Kroger, and Instacart.

Key changes:

  • Fresh now offers full perishable grocery delivery.

  • Investments are being made in cold storage and logistics.

  • Same-day and next-day delivery options are expanding in select areas.

Implications for sellers:

  • Perishable goods pose challenges like spoilage and regional fulfillment.

  • Amazon’s investment reflects confidence in its logistics and commitment to groceries.

  • New opportunities exist for sellers who can meet stricter compliance and cold-chain requirements.

Amazon is positioning grocery as a key growth area. Sellers meeting operational standards will gain access to Prime members, while those who cannot adapt may encounter tougher entry barriers.

🔎 Amazon Adds Jump Bar Navigation to Product Detail Pages

Amazon has introduced a new feature on product detail pages (PDPs) that improves how shoppers interact with A+ Content. Customers will now see a top banner with a jump bar that allows for quick navigation between key sections of the page.

Why it matters:

  • Faster navigation: This reduces scrolling time, enabling shoppers to access relevant information more quickly.

  • Better user experience: The listing layout is cleaner and more structured.

  • Potential boost to conversions: Easier access to product details helps customers make faster purchasing decisions.

This small but impactful update highlights Amazon’s ongoing commitment to streamlining the shopping experience. Sellers should check their listings to see if the jump bar feature has been rolled out.

📆 FBA Inventory Planning: Holiday 2025 Deadlines and Best Practices

Amazon’s Peak Readiness Guide for Q4 highlights a single message: ship early and plan aggressively to maximize holiday sales. Missing cutoffs or underestimating inventory needs can cost sellers their biggest season of the year.

Key FBA cutoffs:

  • Prime Big Deal Days — inventory due Sept 10–19

  • Black Friday / Cyber Monday — inventory owing Oct 20–30

  • AWD option — send to AWD by Aug 29 (Prime Big Deal Days) or Oct 9 (BFCM), then let Amazon auto-replenish FBA

Best practices to follow:

  • Ship in August/September — waiting until October is risky

  • Hit 7-day delivery windows to ensure faster processing

  • Consolidate deals inventory so it gets prioritized in prep centers

Amazon advises sellers to keep 4–6 weeks of inventory before events and at least 28 days afterward. Tools like Capacity Monitor/Manager help manage storage, and AWD can avoid peak storage fees while automatically replenishing FBA.
